53 Days in Yellowstone

In the winter of 2012-13’, I gave myself an assignment to take at least one image every day that I had a guided tour in Yellowstone. It didn’t matter if I took 100 images, as long as I took one,

Being a winter snowcoach guide in Yellowstone is a pretty cool job, but not as easy as it sounds. At the time, it was about my 6th winter season. It was a tight crew at Yellowstone Alpen Guides, and we loved having the winter wonderland to ourselves. Driving the vintage Bombardier snowcoaches through the surreal landscapes has the travel adventure feeling of the 1950’s.

My wife was pregnant with our 2nd child, and my head was spinning. I needed something to calm the nerves, and distract me from the crushing responsibility of parenthood. My photography attitude and energy was high, and this project was perfect for me to stay focused.
